Nintendo and Illumination Entertainment have announced that the Super Mario the film has been officially delayed. The film was originally scheduled to premiere this December, but now it was delayed until April 2023. The film will premiere on April 7 in North America and April 28 in Japan. Hopefully the additional time will help ensure that the final product complies with Nintendo standards! A royal action film from Mario premiered in cinemas in 1993 and was a critical and commercial failure. Since then, Nintendo has notdably doubted to approve other Hollywood adaptations of its properties. However, this new Mario movie may open the door to other Nintendo films, if successful. The cast of voices of star stars could certainly lead to derived movies, but it could be a little wait, now that the film has been delayed.
The cast of the Super Mario film was revealed during a presentation by Nintendo Direct in September 2021. The film will have Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day like Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Keegan-Michael Key as a toad, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek and Sebastian Manisalco as Spike. In addition to those actors, Mario's veteran voice actor, Charles Martinet will also appear in the film.
